The all-sky photograph the three-dimensional sky draws its Milky Way from, in the same standing as the Uranometria scan: licensed imagery whose source, licence and credit line travel with it (public/sky/milky-way.json, written by scripts/build-milky-way.py) and are shown beside the picture. A 360 by 180 degree mosaic in galactic coordinates, with the galactic centre at the middle and the north galactic pole at the top, assembled by Serge Brunier from photographs taken in the Atacama and the Canary Islands and released by ESO in September 2009 as the image of the International Year of Astronomy's GigaGalaxy Zoom project. LICENCE, verified directly: ESO's copyright page (https://www.eso.org/public/outreach/copyright/) states that images on the public ESO website are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, with the credit line given in each image's caption mandatory for fee-free use; the caption's credit line for this image is "ESO/S. Brunier", which the manifest and the panel's own text both carry. WHAT WAS DONE TO IT: the stars were removed by a median filter (the panel draws its own catalogue's stars over the band) and the black point taken out, and it was resized to two widths for the sky sphere; every step is listed in the manifest. Nothing was added.
