The colour map wrapped on the three-dimensional sky's Moon marker: the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter wide-angle camera's natural-colour mosaic, published with a matching elevation map as a kit "designed for use in 3D rendering software", in cylindrical (equirectangular) projection with longitude zero at the centre and north up. Credited on the page to NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio, visualizer Ernie Wright (USRA) and scientist Noah Petro (NASA/GSFC), with the LRO LROC WAC colour mosaic and the LOLA elevation map listed as the datasets used. TERMS, verified directly: the page asks that credit be given to NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio, and NASA's media usage guidelines (https://www.nasa.gov/nasa-brand-center/images-and-media/) state that NASA content, including images and computer files used in the rendition of three-dimensional models, is generally not subject to copyright in the United States and may be used for educational or informational purposes without explicit permission. The credit line is carried in public/sky/moon.json (written by scripts/build-moon.py) and shown in the panel's own caption. WHAT WAS DONE TO IT: the levels were stretched so the brightest ejecta reach white, and the map was resized to one width; both are listed in the manifest. Nothing was painted, moved or removed. The map's orientation on the marker comes from archinal-2018-iau-rotational-elements for the pole and from the ephemeris library's own libration for the meridian; see sky3d/moonFace.ts.
